Dave Fulmer, Pastor

Dave Fulmer

Married to Beth Fulmer since 1979

Children: Zachary (and daughter-in-law Ahna), Aubrey, Abigail

Grandchildren: Gracie, Caleb, Lilly

Hobbies / Interests:
Give me cool temperatures in late Fall, with a good fire in the outdoor firepit, and Beth and any (or better, ALL) of my kids/grandkids around and I am a happy man! And if we just watched, or even better, played some football then life is truly good! If Beth or the kids aren’t around than give me a good book to immerse myself in and I’m still content. I grew up in a game-playing family and our kids and the larger Fulmer clan love the usually raucous laughter that accompanies these competitions.

Beth and I love being in mountains and we have been incredibly privileged to hike in the Colorado, Montana, and Canadian Rockies several times in life. I also enjoy playing around on the guitar and sitting around with good friends – old and new!

Background & Story:
One of the very biggest and deepest blessings of my life was to be raised in a solid Christian home were Jesus was both worshiped and treated as an actual and real friend who was present with us in every moment. Thanks Mom and Dad!

Lancaster County has been my home for the great majority of my life. I graduated from Garden Spot High School in nearby New Holland, from Messiah College (1980) and from Evangelical Theological Seminary (1999). Besides pastoring for 20 years, I have worked home construction, cabinet building, retail hardware, and Human Resource Manager jobs at various times in my life. But I have always been amazed and humbled that I have been called and privileged to serve in this role of pastor. Wow!  And now here with Summit View I get to serve alongside one of my closest friends, Todd! How cool is that? Hanging out with Todd and Liz is one of our favorite things to do and now we can call it work time!! (Just a little joke there Board Members!)

Beth works at Garden Spot High School / Middle School as a school nurse. My “other” job is working alongside my Dad in Fulmer Insurance LLC, mainly helping the 65 and older crowd with Medicare and health insurance options

Favorite quote:
From C. S. Lewis sermon, “The Weight of Glory”
If we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased

Zephaniah 3:17, The Lord your God is with you He is mighty to save you. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with his love, He will rejoice over you with singing
